low blood sugar
I quit drinking about five weeks ago. I used to drink beer every night. I am glad I quit and I don't plan on returning to my old habbits. Question....I have been feeling lightheaded, shaky, weak the last couple of weeks. Could this be low blood sugar?

To begin, I would like to applaude you for your change in lifestyle. You will reap the benefits of your lifestyle change for many years to come. Your risks for some diseases have increased and you will surely increase the quality of your life for years to come.
Re: your inference of low blood sugar. It is possible, or your body may be adapting to it's regular activities prior to your frequent drinking binges. I noticed that your nickname is "diabetic" if you are diagnosed as a diabetic, you are probably aware of the symptoms associated with this disease. It is in your best interest to go see a daughter re: your symptoms. They may be nothing but with drawl which can be improved by dietary changes or they may be the clinical manifestations of something else.

If your experiencing low blood sugar it would be easily recognized by testing your blood sugar.If you are type 1.you could also be experiencing withdrawl symptoms

I do not know why, I have dry mouth too. I am diabetic and have hypoglycemia. I just started noticing this year that I wake up from my sleep with it. I usually notice when my throat gets dry awake or asleep. I don't sleep with my mouth open.

hi im a diabetic 31 f married had diebetes 25 years yes light headed and feeling sweaty and shaking thats sighns of low sugar. i take my blood sugar 10 to 12 times aday thats how i know what the sugar is. love to hear from you again .. tonya
no i think not low but
no i think not low but readjusting i'v been diabetic for 30+yrs and when i find my sugars running hi and try to lower them at first i to feel low but its actually your sugar thermastat adjusting so when you go lower than you're acoustom to you'll get shakey just test your sugar to see the difference and try not to go for food or sweets to get rid of that feeling
