I am feeling trapped. I'm told to loose weight, exercise and eat balanced meals to help control my diabetis, but the medication I take encourages weight gain and water retention. For eight months I was on Glucovance which I found I was allergic to. While I was on it I developed a rash, body achs, extream fatigue and various other symptoms that made me feel like I was slowly dying. Now that I am off that medication my blood sugar has been harder to control. I'm getting some strength back but my stamina has a long way to go before I can get back to exercising like I did. The effects of the the glucovance (its the sulfa that I'm allergic to) are waring off slowly. Doctors have increased the dosage of my Metformin and added Actos meds to my daily program. With the increase in dosage I'm finding an increase in my weight gain, which caused more achs etc. The cycle.I'm thinking of going off all medications to see if I can feel better quicker. The medications are adding to the problem instead of helping, I think. Anyone out there ever had this problem or can anyone give me some advice. Read more
