In the early stages, some people are unaware that they have the disease. They may chalk off some of the early symptoms, not knowing that they are diabetes. There are several early signs of the disease. An unusual thirst is one of the most common symptom. Along with the unusual thirst comes frequent urination. In a diabetic, cells in the body are lacking in fuel for energy. This makes the diabetic feel like they have an abnormally large increase in appetite. Even with an abnormal increase in appetite, some individuals begin to experience a sudden, substantial loss in weight.

In addition to the above symptoms, a person with diabetes exercise both physical fatigue and mental exertion. The person feels like they lack energy and are often plagued with tiredness. You may also notice that wounds are taking longer than normal to fully heal. Dry and itchy skin is another sign of diabetes.

Blurry vision is a concerning sign of diabetes, because blindness is one of the serious complications of diabetes. Tingling and burning of the fingers, toes, arms, and legs may occur due to blood vessel damage from too much sugar in the blood.
